Thanks Rick for these URLs... I *was* able to download the install executable for Netscape 4.08 :)
now, I have it on my hard drive with 4.9 MB free space... it is a hand-me-down toshiba laptop with a (packed) 500 MB HD compressed with Drivespace... I will have to do some serious thinking about which directories I would/will want to delete to make room/possible for me to have web access again... yet at least I know/realize it *can* be done!(i.e. it just a matter of me making space(I think)(my last copy was installed from and onto the same zip disk and then the zip disk simply became unusable(i.e. I never hit a deinstaller, I just simply stopped using the disk)(so I hope there is no problem installing a new copy without me having used a de-installer on the last copy)) unless i attempt to install it again to a zip disk Thanks everyone for the help and concern Andy [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Tue, 2 Mar 2004, Rick Glazier wrote: > I think he would only be interested in the 8.67 meg Navigator only version... > http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/english/4.08/windows/windows3.1/navigator_standalone/n16d408.exe > > http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/english/4.08/windows/windows3.1/navigator_standalone/n16d408.exe > > > (I really am going to quit procrastinating, next week sometime.) > > From: "Dirk Hunt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > There is a full install at 17.8 Mb and a base at 15Mb > > > > Email me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and i will set up Temp FTP account > > for you to pull them from me. > > > > At 01:59 PM 3/2/04 -0500, you wrote: > > >I'd like to install IE or Netscape 4.08 on my Win3.11 machine... > > > > > >I have 19 MB free space on my HD... > > > > > >what is the latest version of IE that works with Win3.11? > > > > > >does microsoft still offer this version for free download? > > > > > >if not I guess I will have to try Netscape 4.08 again... > > > > > >I can only use WS_FTP to ftp files yet don't know how to use it > > > > > > > > > > > >can anyone help me use WS_FTP to download IE or Netscape? > > > > > >I was familiar with running ftp in shell account unix > > > > > >yet in WS_FTP I don't know how to get to a command line so I can for ex. > > >change the Type to II(binary) > > > > > >please help... > > > > > >thanks in advance > > > > > >Andy > > > You are subscribed to the PC-ASK Mailing List @ ST John's University > Listowner -> [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Unsubscribe -> Send "unsubscribe pc-ask" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives -> http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/pc-ask.html >
