Hi There!
I am trying to set up ISDN dial-in for
my AVM Fritz! PCI with no success.
I always just get failed LCP Request, even if
I am quite sure, that everything is set up properly.
I've read through the FAQ's and tried all kind of
things... but ... no way.
The things I can tell you:
Standard Suse Linux 6.0 distribution,
Kernel 2.0.36
ISDN compiled in, HiSax as Module...
HiSax supports the card correctly (2 channels added)
/dev/ttyIx devices are working properly
Everything looks fine.
I want use the dial-in to my school,
I have the name of the server and the
Server's IP: 194.95.104.1
The phone number... sure
CHAP Authentification
I get an dynamic IP of a known range
I know my Username and Password
I've set up the default route with Yast - no success.
I've tried to set it up according to the HowTos,
everything seems to be correctly - but
no success
I'm able to connect to the server from Windoof 98
properly - so, there are no hardware problems...
(Yes, it's CHAP, the servers are correct, ...)

Now I've tried to follow the example in the
/usr/doc/packagex/i4l/README.Quick file
to connect to Suse's Test-Dial-in.
I've done it step by step, but I always
get LCP Request failures...
It's exactly the same problem as with the server
of my school.
I've checked the HiSax settings,
I've checked the ipppd settings, everything looks
fine. No difference if I use manual- or auto-
dialmode.
So, what is wrong there?
