Dear Sir,
Thanks :-)

I would like to ask you something. When I fill in everyting according to your sheet i can't connect to internet through an win95 client. What do I fill in for the gateway the ip adress 192.168.1.99. and what segement do i use for win95 192.168.1.x of 192.168.2.x.

For your Win-Clients, you start
Settings-> Control Panel -> Network -> Protocols -> TCP/IP Protocol -> Properties
and fill in
IP-Addr 192.168.1.x where x is an unused number x > 0 && x < 255
Sub-Net Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.99 (where .99 is your Linux-Box-IP)
On the next Tab DNS you again fill in 192.168.1.99

Then you edit \windows\hosts or
\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts for NT and put in the Domainname of your Linux box.
I have there
192.168.1.99  lux.leo.home

That's all.

The 192.168.2.2 is my default gateway which gets replaced by my dynamically assigned real IP on dialup.
If you have a static (real world IP) you put in there.

Hope this helps & greetinx from Austria
leo
Thanks for helping me

your regards
