I tried XFmail and overall liked it.

Unfortunately it has one problem (or maybe I missed something in the config)
that prevents me from using it at the moment. I still have Windows as my
primary mail environment and use Linux as the secondary (but this will
change soon). So I have set my Linux mail up to leave a copy on the server.
Netscape handles this fine but although XFmail does support this it appears
not to flag messages it already downloaded and downloads them again the next
time you retrieve mail.

Another little thing is that it doesn't make URLs clickable in the viewer.
