just as an aside, a colleague of mine is a genealogist, and he told me
about www.rootsweb.com, where they apparently have quite some linuxboxes
in use right now.
They don't WANT MS- (or by extension any other proprietary vendor)
software. Because they want the information still to be readable within
40+ years. Quite understandable given the nature of their activities.
Now, what'd be so different with governments et al ?
