Hi there everyone!
I am fairly new to Linux but I am really enjoying working with it, I was
always a DOS/Windows/NT user up till now.
I also have a problem with samba, I have set up a linux fileserver using
Samba version 1.9.18p10. I can see and use shares on my linux 5.3 box with
my other server (NT 4.0).
I can see the NT server from the Linux box using smbclient -L servername and
I can see what services are available.
However when I use "smbmount //myservername/myshare /mymountpoint" to mount
a share, I
get an error "mount error: Invalid argument"
I have read through all the docs and how-to's but I am most perplexed to say
the least!!
When I run tail -f /var/log/messages I get the following:
kernal: smb_dont_catch_keepalive: server ->data ready == NULL
Has anyone any ideas?
tia & merry xmas to all
