        Uhhh, mail, usually. If I want Pine or mutt, I'd type pine or mutt
on the command line.

        For other mail programs, man pine or man mutt. There's elm
available too, but its security is flawed, and it's no longer being
maintained.

        Exactly, or fetchmail then pine or fetchmail then mutt...
        Of course, if you haven't dialed your ISP, or fetchmail doesn't
invoke diald (and diald isn't configured to dial your ISP) you're still
just pounding sand

        So far, as far as mail goes, closer to newbie, but you'll get
