There is a parameter in /etc/sendmai.cf concerning "Type", (or you can do
it via yast by enabling the expensive mail question:-)  At any rate, if you
change that to either "deferred" or "background", netscape should also use
the localhost.  Or, in case I misunderstood your question, answer your mail
online, and Netscape will try to send it immediately:-)
