I have SuSE 5.3 on a Twinhead Slimnote 9 notebook. The graphics chipset is
a Trident 9385 (w/ 2meg RAM)
After much fiddling, everything seems to work well (with KDE & Windowmaker,
etc). BUT, there are certain applications I can launch which force the
XServer to crash and then restart KDM. The latest which I tried was LICQ
(latest version) but also Microsoft's (sorry) Media PLayer for example.
After looking in the xdm.error log I found a Signal 11 error which crashes
the X server - it then restarts automatically with KDM.
Other details: I have Kernel 2.0.36 installed, 64meg RAM -
I'm a relative NEWBIE to Linux - been fiddling with it (off and on) for
over a year now.
Any help would be appreciated.
