I am pretty sure that if you kill everything kscd related off, then when you
restart KDE you will not have these things around (unless you have kscd in your
startup folder, in which case one copy will start).  The thing is that whether
or not you have it set up to dock on launch, it actually runs two separate
things, the player, and the little dock thing.  If you kill the player, the
dock thing is still alive (sometimes hidden).  So you restart it. . and now you
have like three Kscd things appearing. . .and it can get worse.  And, when you
restart KDE it saves the session so all of this opens back up. I had the same
problems, which weren't really problems after all, and got around them by just
making sure that I had one and only one instance of kscd running at any given
time.  If you don't, you run into problems even ejecting cd's etc since
the multiple instances all are talking to the cd.  Of course, what you should
do, is just use a better cd player  (like xmcd, say, though I am sure that
there are even better things to use).
