I have now compiled a 2.2.1 kernel,it boots fine.
Did have a string of char-major-4 stuff,but changed
the line in /etc/conf.modules to read ...
alias char-major-4 off
This solved it.
However,now i`m getting cannot locate ppp-compress-21
ppp-compress-26
" " "
logged in my ppp-chat.log.
i do have ppp compiled as a module in the kernel.
in fact i`m connected now to write this,so there cannot
be too much wrong.
But i hate error messages.
Any idea`s ??
