If this is Time-Warner's cable modem, you'll need a login
client (good luck - see your local Linux group).  Then
you must use a DHCP client.  SuSE has one on the web site,
but I don't remember the name.  I use Red Hat for my
gateway, and SuSE on my LAN.  RH handles this quite 
easily.
