Victor,

This is a boot problem of sorts.  I don't know all the details of how the
boot process works, but try looking at the LILO documentation and perhaps
running LILO.  I usually compile my new kernels to boot from floppy till I
get it working the way I want, then I go look in the book for all my
scratched in notes to configure it to boot from the NT boot loader.  To
boot from floppy "make zdisk."  Yes you are running the old kernel.
