Lenz,

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I had already tried that.  I double
checked to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.  It works just fine
under 2.0.36.  I just tried it on the same box with the same KDE install.
I does not work under 2.2.2.  Perhaps there is something wrong with my
kernel configureation.  I also get an error during boot saying that it cant
find char-major-4. (or something reall close to that.)  That, I believe, is
a serial port.
