check /etc/lilo.conf, I found the for some reason suse has a hard link
to /boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36 instead of a link to just /boot/vmlinuz that
the appropriate links, System.map, and vmlinuz re-run lilo and you'll
be fine.

Maybe someone could help me with the following. I compiled the new
kernel but when I boot I still see 2.0.36. What I did was:
cd /usr/src
mv linux linux-2.0.36
tar zxpvf linux-2.2.0.tar.gz
cd /usr/src/linux
make mrproper
make menuconfig
make dep clean zdisk
make zlilo
Am I missing something?
