So, I am at the point in making a decision about going with gnome 1.00
and have to install the rpms for glib/gtk to make things work right. I
have self-compiled gtk/glib and now will probably have to remove them
to get the rpms to work correctly. Does anyone have any insight they
can offer regarding this? Has anyone applied the gnome rpms at the
1.00 level and self-compiled gtk/glib? How does one remove these libs
manually?
This whole thing makes me speculate on having a package administration
approach which would manage the whole system and not just some aspect
of it. We need a yast which manages self-compiled programs and offers
to manage the system across the board.
Comments, opinions?
