Hi, I'm a first time user of SuSE. YAST says it installed egcs. Tried compiling a project (not mine) and apparently egcs could not be found. Look in /etc/sbin not there. First time I ever tried compiling anything on a Linux box, but I had been warned to expect the unexpected! QUESTION 1 What happened to egcs? Disinstalled egcs. put in 'front end' to gcc change Makefile to CC=gcc project (not mine!) Compiled OK. But only ONCE! Next try, after minor mods compiler gives error saying missing mysql.h referenced by one of the project's includes QUESTION 2 Is it possible that the gcc compile process somehow 'loses' track of an include Both probably dumb questions, but we all start with those Geoff - To get out of this list, please send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/ and the archive at http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html
