I've just installed it and am using it right now. :-)

Basically I followed the given instructions for the SuSE RPMs on www.gnome.org to
the letter (make a "games" group before installing the games though), and then,
to get Gimp working again, I went into YAST and reinstalled GTK. Everything seems
happy I think, although I've had one fairly bad crash earlier and I've yet to get
used to it. So far I think KDE is better suited to actually getting work done but
that could be just unfamiliarity. :-} It certainly looks cool. "gnome" just
appeared in the list of window managers to use in KDM too, on this machine, while
at home I had to add it manually for some reason.

Now on kernel 2.2.3 by the way. :-)

Libraries that it needs newer than are in SuSE 6.0 are basically the GTK and
Gnome stuff, which are supplied in Gnome's SuSE 6.0 rpms.
