Good. Is that in Suse's rc.config or whatever?

About a year ago I was trying to test mysql against sybase. We use sybase
at work, and it was my idea that mysql would run rings around it for
purely readonly reporting. To test this I
was loading two tables, one with about 60000 recs, and the other with
1.2million records. I was amazed at how fast mysql "imported" the records.
And especially impressed with reporting. One thing for sure, this
experience drove home the importance of indexes on joined and "where'ed"
fields. Alas, I did not finish doing it.

One thing I questioned was their security. IMO, I could not see how to use
it in a multiuser transaction oriented system. I wonder if they have
improved this?

Do you mean "telneting" to linux from Win? Or running a windows X client?

Take it easy.
