hi, I got a net connection through my network card and cable modem. suse 5.3 I got no x windows as i got permedia card. =( i try to rpm -i ftp://......./xi128-3.3.3.1-3.i386.rpm It says: error - skipping - transfer failed unable to locate ftp server host name error cannot open file //var/tmp/rpm-ftp-0.635.tmp Now I suppose I have the server not defined in my network settings. How do I do it? What is the second error about? Will the rpm command to the server put the xf file in the right place automatically? Where would it be? What do I have to do afterwards to use that updated xf_glint rpm to make my X Windows start up. Do I just use yast and it will be able to install the x server from the rpm on my drive?
