I feel a bit stupid tellin LiNUX about how to LiNUX...

Maybe you've not installed the corresponding X-Server. TStart YaST aand
then select "choose/install packages", then "Change/Create
configuration", then go down and enter on xsrv section, here choose the
apropiate server (xi740 i think...). Now, proced as you surely yet known
;-) in order to install the server.
