Hi all---
I'm a semi-newbie (new to Suse, used RedHat before), and I was hoping you could
clear up a couple of issues for me.

1) I compiled and installed kernel 2.2.1, and am getting 2 error messages on
start up. One is "modprobe cannot find nls-iso8859" and the other has
something to do with Char-major-14 (I think). What could have caused this and
how can I fix it.

2) `While going through the various logs to try to sort out the problem, I
found the message "cat uses obsolete /proc/pci". What does this mean and does
it need to be fixed somehow?

3) After installing a new kernel, can I remove the old kernel sources and
module directories? My system is a bit low on space since I'm running Win98 on
another partition for now, and I'd like to delete anything I don't really need.

I'm running Suse 6.0, btw.

Sorry if these questions have been asked before, but I'm new to the list.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Elizabeth
