First, you don't set up kppp through yast.  Kppp has its own setup and
can be done by clicking kpp then going to setup.  
 Your ISP will definately have to give up the DNS and ip information but
then they have that info and should be glad to do so.  If the first
person you talk to refuses to give it to you ask him/her to transfer you
to another.  (They have no good reason not to give you the information
you need to connect.)  If they are stuck on the "use our software only"
thing you can always tell them that you accidentally deleted that
information from your setup.

Since you have already done some ppp setup through yast it is important
that you go to edit /etc/ppp/options and comment out the line that says
"lock".  Just add a # in front of it.

If all else fail write me with the location of the t-online you dial
into and I will get the dns information for you by asking another user
of the service.
