No, unfortunately it seems to be a bug in Linux's APM.  The Aopen board uses
an MVP3 chipset which is more than capable of automatically powering down the
system; in fact, it is also capable of turning the system on (wake-on-modem
or wake-on-event)!!!  However, auto power off, whether built into the system
or accomplished with poweroff, causes a crash with this board.
