To date, Linux Advocacy has not bored the corporate "wankers"... it has
only insulted them and turned them completely off of Linux.

If microsoft started striking back by calling linux silly names ("The
Kiddy-Hacker's OS with the fat penguin and the Featureless Win95-clone
Window Manager") that would instantly discount anything they say, and turn
consumers off of MS products. And they themselves would guarantee that no
Linux user would consider becoming an NT user.

There are proper ways to advocate a product, and there are self-defeating
ways. Slamming the competition using childish rhetoric is definitely a
way of segregating and excluding yourself from the market. Microsoft has
proven extremely good at discounting Linux without being offensive. They
*sound* like they know what they are talking about. Words like 'doze and
Microshit certainly don't give people the impression that the writer knows
what they are talking about.

Yes, in my opinion and observations, Linux kicks the bejeesus out of NT,
but the state of Linux promotion by people with less-than-intelligent
catch phrases and nicknames is not convincing the NT users of this.

If it weren't for the fact that Linux actually *is* a good OS, and works
so well for what I do, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole,
considering the negative reaction all this bad-mouthing is causing. It is
definitely not converting many NT users to Linux!
