I am not particularly fond of the kppp program although it does work
and I know people use it here successfully. To me, there are a number
of options you can use and still use kde overall. The easiest tool I
have seen for dialups will not do the term window but all it creates is
one file to edit when you use it. Check out wvdial which is included
in the suse cds. Another one I particularly like is xisp. Xisp can be
set to bring up a term window. I think others can give wisdom on why
kppp does what it does.
