[SuSE Linux] setserial

Is there any way that I can set setserial up to automatically assign
/dev/modem and /dev/ttyS1 UARTs of 16550A on startup?  I have to input it
manually for some bizarre reason, and YaST doesn't change a thing.  Thank
you.
