Forgive what is probably a dumb question from a beginner, but ...

I've installed SuSE 5.3 and Applixware 4.4.1 from the Office Suite 99 CDs
pretty much out of the box with no real problem. I can send and receive
e-mail OK with elm, sendmail, etc. The problem is that when I send e-mail
composed in Applixware Mail and it's received by MS Outlook Express, the
subject line is OK, but the body of the message is generally a bunch of
`??????'. The silly thing is that looking at the properties of the message
in MS OE (specifically looking at the message content) the body text is
there to read. Incidentally, MS OE indicates that there is an attached
file. (BTW Mail from Applixware received by Applixware or elm is OK.)

I think I've looked at all the option buttons I can find in MS OE and
Applixware, but can't see anything that would account for this behaviour.

Can anyone offer some help?

TIA

John Beasley
