You should be able to set the cdrom to be bootable from the SCSIcard
/Bios setups...
On my system I get ...
i.e. when you boot up your machine after doing the post checks (
pentium nnn
nnnnn memory)
the screen clears and a message appears about the SCSI interface
...
Adaptec 2940 Blah BLah Blah
Press Fn for setup
You should set the option to boot from SCSI within the SCSI setup.
The SuSE CD's I have are bootable (SuSe Office 99)
This worked for Me I hope this helps!!
Surjit.

Subject: [SuSE Linux] how to boot SuSE 5.3 cd from SCSI cdrom?

I looked over the install manual, but nothing except "you may need to
copy over to hard drive and install from there if your SCSI adapter is
not supported..."
I have an Advansys 940 UW that is supported by RedHat, and a Toshiba
SCSI CDROM.
Do I just need to specify the device, as in "/dev/scd0" when the message
comes out "cannot mount CD!" and try again?
I am right now searching SuSE SDB for more info...
Thanks for the help!
