I'm trying to use an Office Jet 500 printer, using the deskjet 500 printer configuration in SuSE 6.0. Seems that, without anything in the printer queue (checked with lpq), it spits out reams of paper with garbage on it (and ghostscript is installed). Sometimes I can stop this by reinstalling a printer driver (with YaST). When this happens, it seems to print OK, but lately, I just can't stop this garbage printing to get anything useful printed---I have to reboot into win98 (ugh), which makes it tough to print PostScript.. Any suggestions?
