Just to take bandwidth, same thing happened to me.  I hung the terminal
once with a KDE app that I had hacked to get it to compile (and hasn't
been very stable, but that's just krn), but I had a computer on my
network, so I was able to quite happily reboot it.  

The only time my linux box has actually crashed (now that I think about
it, it was probably just another hung terminal), was when I was screwing
around with overclocking...

Yep, and I'm doing my part to slowly chip away at the NT foothold at my
High School.  We'll be replacing NT on the AlphaStation with AlphaLinux.
That change will happen right when *grin* SuSE should put out their alpha
distro...
