I guess, you are using SAMBA 2.0.x. There is a problem with the
smbmount-code, the kernel-smbfs-structure has changed in 2.2.x. I found
a notice in the Kernel-Documentaion that you need to recompile the
smbmount (and smbumount) from the latest SAMBA-Sources. I've tried 2.0.0
from SuSE 6.0 but without success (compilation stopped with errors).
Look in your /var/log/message. If there is an line like "You need mount
Version 6" you can try to compile a new smbmount. Please let me know, if
you have more luck than me.
