Maybe it is better (for security reasons) to use ssh2. In my opinion it is
easier to install, too. You can get the sources i.e. from
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/cert.dfn/tools/net/ssh/ssh-2.0.12.tar.gz
Just unpack it and type
./configure && make && make install
Then read SSH.QUICKSTART.
