Hi,

I'm trying to install SuSE 7.3 on an Ultra Enterprise 2, with 2 x 450
MHz and 1,5 GB of Memory, without video or keyboard, using the serial
port.

At the SILO prompt I choose the text installation. It start off fine;
booting the kernel, finding all sorts of hardware ans so on.

It completes the hardware detection without any errors. Then it says
"Searching for infofile....", again no error.

The next step is "Preparing for installation....". That is where I get
the same error three times in a row:

modprobe: modprobe: Cant't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.4.14/modules.dep (no such file or directory)
modprobe: modprobe: Cant't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.4.14/modules.dep (no such file or directory)
modprobe: modprobe: Cant't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.4.14/modules.dep (no such file or directory)

After that the machine goes back to the "ok" prompt.

Now what?

btw. I got my iso files from ftp.gwdg.de. They are dated Nov. 11 2001.

Puzzeled
Jochen
