Try:
boot Linux

If you get an error about the file not being non executable then you need to
reinstall silo.  Boot off the SUSE CD (rescue), mount /boot to /boot and
/etc to /mnt/etc (or whatever).  Then execute silo pointing to the
configuration file at /mnt/etc.  Now reboot.  Pain in the butt but beats
reinstalling.
