hi, in my ultra 10 I have a scsi-hostadapter Single-Ended Ultra/Wide SCSI (SunSwift PCI), Partnumber: 501-5656
attached are two scsi-disks type ST19171WC SUN9gb on target-id 0 and 1. (both in SUN-Unipacks, active HD68 terminated) when I try to install Linux7.3 on one of these scsi-disks, they are not recognized by the system. when I boot from cdrom into singleuser I can only see the ide-disk. (I tried with fdisk -l, are there any other possibilities??) if I try probe-scsi-all in OBP both disks can be seen. and also if I boot Solaris 8, everything works fine. I can see all disk with format. I tried to load a drivermodule for the hostadapter. (was a quite blue screen, is this yast1??) the system suggests me to choose something like 'symbiosxxxx..' but if I choose this (the onlyone..) controller nothing happens. it beeps severaltimes an quits with an error. the system asked me to fill in options for the scsi-drivermodule to load. do I have to choose options at all? And if so, which option should I take?? any other ideas why it doesn't work with my scsi-controller?? (I hope you don't mind my English ...) thanks for any help. peter. -- -- -------------------------------------------------------------- CLASS AG - http://www.class.de Peter Dietrich Support Engineer Technical Competence Center Tel +49 (0) 8151/991-247 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------------------------------- NEU !!
