Is your / root filesystem in solaris greater than < 2 Gigs??
In that case, its not a Silo problem...

You can not boot solaris on old sparcs if you have a / root partition larger
than 2 Gigs... Its a bug/feature in the old PROM (or Hardware).
However, you can install it this way without complains from the installation
program,
but then its time to boot, it doesn't work...
