Hello, I hope someones got an answer for this, I've been looking for days... many thanks in advance to anyone who posts.
I'm running suse-sparc7.3 on a ss20 and I can't get a uk keymap in x, simple as that. I want to do it manually by editing configuration files.... maybe if I had a sun model 5 uk keyboard sax2_sbus would recognise it and configure the files for me, but unfortunately I'm using a uk ps2 through a belkin adapter which emulates a sun model 5 us keyboard, so thats what automatic configuration programs give me - a us keymap. I've found it easy to set up a couple of custom keys by editing the 'type 5' section of /etc/X11/xkb/keycodes/sun but it's the _whole_ keymap I want to change. my XF86Config says this: section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Driver "keyboard" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbKeycodes" "sun(type5)" Option "XkbModel" "type5" Option "XkbRules" "sun" Option "XkbLayout" "us" Option "XkbGeometry" "sun(type5)" Option "XkbSymbols" "sun/us(sun5)" EndSection There's a 'uk' keymap in /etc/X11/xkb/keymap/sun, so I change "XkbLayout" from "us" to "uk" but nothing changes. So then I reckon I should do something about that "XkbSymbols" option, cos it still says 'us', but the only other file except 'us' in /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/sun is 'se' which gives me weird stuff. As you can see, I don't know what I'm doing - I don't really understand how these options and files interact, and I can't find any documentation on them. Any ideas or pointers would be much appreciated! cheers - chris -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
