Thank you for regarding my problem.

Yes, I can boot the SB100 from a Solaris cd.
--
The exact error is:

pbm_intmap_match: bus 02, devfn 00: IRQ
[00020000.00000000.00000000.00000001]
not found in interrupt-map

Where it doesn't matter, wether I choose yast2, text or manual install.
--
Btw: I also cannot boot from a Debian cd

Error:
Clock_probe: Cannot find timer chip
(yes, I know..., this is not a Debian mailinglist, but for the sake of
completeness it should be mentioned...)
--
The SB100 has no optional graphic-card, I'm using the onboard (think it's
m64)

Thank you.

Peter.

Can you boot the Solaris cd on the sunblade 100? Good way to test to see
if it boots off cds.

Also what is the exact error when you boot from the cdrom? The only
problem I can think of, is it IS booting from cdrom. You probably have
dual video cards in the SB100. Linux doesn't support sun 3D cards,
remove it.

Thanks,

Nope..it's he same as I have...

And also I was able to boot from any CD...SuSE 7.3, Debian 3.0 as also
downloaded Solaris 8/9 CDs.

I just had to burn them on a PC with Easy CD creator..
They weren't bootable burned on a Mac with Toast.

Rick

ok. So I don't need a 'special' image for sunblade 100, do I? the image
for 7.3 (for sparc) should work. and (I hope!!) I also don't have to
compile my own kernel (don't even know
how....)

but it makes me wonder, why I can boot a sparc 20 and also an ultra 10
from the same CD's... they seem to be bootable (burnt them with cdrecord
on solaris). but nevertheless I think it's worth to try another program.

Before I start further investigation I will try with Easy CD creator on
my PC.

thank you for spending your time on this.

regards,

Peter.
