Hi folks,
if anyone out there would come to the same idea as I did and use an
additional PCI-based SCSI - Controler as the single device having a hdd
attached, be warned: the original SuSE installation CD will not recognize
this device for some strange reason. The loading of the aic7xxx fails. We
modified the initial ramdisk - for Ultra architecture - in such a way that
this issue is fixed. So, if anyone has such a problem - feel free to contact
me.
Moreover, what regards the kernel issues: if for some reason anyone would
like to switch to 2.4.20 and integrate all the patches from aurora, I can
supply a script that does all the work for you:
- unpack & patch the sources, build the kernel, install the modules ...
If anyone is in need (i.e would like to use ncpfs on SuSE sparc ...) feel
