Hi all! Im new to this list, Fredrik 27, software writer from
New to SUN but familiar with SUSE. Well, a friend gave (nice friend) me a old Netra
(like 400MHz, 512RAM, 2x8GB scsi…) I said thanks and planned to install SUSE
on it and use it for a nameserver. Ok just to plug the keyboard, well nope, a few hours later
I got LOM to work with my cable and wintendo XP over hyperterminal. Sweet. I didn’t manage to get to the ok> prompt
until I tried booting without the disks, ok I got to the ok prompt. If I tried probe-ide-all I can se my cdrom on primary
slave (if I remember correct) and the correct modelname of the cdrom driver. I run “boot cdrom“ It says Cant open disk label package Cant open boot device The cd that’s in a homemade (with nero) with suse
7.3 for sparc, downloaded from suse. I have tried three other cd-rom players. Any ideas of what I should check/do next? Are Best regards /Fredde |
