Dear suspend developers -
After several evenings of fighting with ACPI suspend-to-ram with my
Epia-M motherboard, I ran across your project. My hearty thanks ...
your instructions were clear and I managed to get my motherboard to
suspend with a minimum of hassle.
I would note that while my motherboard is already on the whitelist, the
flags specified (-a 2, s3_mode) did not work for me. Instead, I had to
use -f -s (VBE save/restore). Using these flags, however, works
consistently even when in X. The motherboard has an onboard VIA
graphics controller (Unichrome CLE266), and I'm using the X.org 7.1
server/drivers and kernel 2.6.17 with VIA-specific AGP and DRI.
The output of s2ram -i:
sys_vendor = "VIA Technologies, Inc."
sys_product = "VT8623-8235"
sys_version = " "
bios_version = "6.00 PG"
I don't know how accurate that "bios_version" field is (ie, compared to
the report you had from the previous person) ... I'm using the latest
BIOS from VIA, 1.17beta2 (fixes large DMA issues.)
The other thing that I find amazing is that machine is a diskless
client, and mounts its root filesystem over NFS. Everything still works
great.
Again, thank you for this wonderful little utility.
Brian
