Dear Developers of s2ram and related, I recently checked s2ram in a minimal system environment at the command line using
init=/bin/bash
mount /proc
mount /sys
First the working results:
s2ram -f -a 3
With all other known options s2ram worked fine, resume did not. Moreover,
s2ram did not work at all (i.e. also resume did not) with
s2ram -f -p -s
s2ram -f -s
s2ram -f -a 1 -s
showing the following in the terminal:
Switching from vt1 to vt1
Calling save_state
Allocated buffer at 0x11000 (base is 0x0)
ES: 0x1100 EBX: 0x0000
The output from s2ram -i is:
dhcppc2:~ # s2ram -i
This machine can be identified by:
sys_vendor = "LENOVO"
sys_product = "89196VG"
sys_version = "ThinkPad R61"
bios_version = "7KET64WW (1.14 )"
Although s2ram -f -a 3 works fine in a minimal environment, it does not work
within X11. The following lines show you which system I use in detail:
Opensuse 10.2 x86_64 with recent updates
Kernel 2.6.22.1-10-default from Opensuse Factory (01.08.2007)
Latest kde 3.5.7
Qt 3.38
Graphics Card with latest proprietary NVIDIA driver:
