*A workshop from the Natural Leaders Initiative
for staff and Board members in community organizations

>From Scarcity to Abundance: Developing All the Diverse Leaders You Need
Tuesday, April 30, 2013, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

*Led by Margo Hittleman and Fabina Benites Colon, Natural Leaders Initiative
Location: Cornell Cooperative Extension-Tompkins, 615 Willow Ave.****

In the search for diverse leadership, most organizations ignore one of
their greatest assets: the large, untapped pool of informal leaders that
already exists right around them. In this interactive workshop, you will
learn how to strategically grow a leader-full organization while
simultaneously furthering your mission, goals and work.

*You will: *

   - Be introduced to the principles of “developmental leadership” and
learn how it differs from leadership approaches centered on “persuading,”
   “motivating” or “influencing” people. ****
   - Identify when, where and how developmental leadership can help you
achieve personal and organizational goals. ****
   - Learn the key attributes and skills of developmental leaders; assess
your own developmental leadership skills; and identify skills you want to
   develop further. ****
   - Find concrete ways to identify, nurture and support the diverse,
untapped pools of informal leaders – and potential leaders – that exist
around you and your organization, while simultaneously furthering your
   organization's mission and goals ****
   - Identify ways to apply these principles and skills in the work you're
   already doing. ****
