Get Your GreenBack's focus in May turns to active transportation, with a special emphasis on riding a bike. I offer myself personally to help any of you who would like to give riding a bike a try this month. You don't need to have a bike to do it!
Please share w/ those who might be interested. Karim * Get Your BIKE Back Tompkins! May is transportation month for Get Your GreenBack Tompkins, and on behalf of your bank account, on behalf of all the rivers, lakes and ponds, the land, trees, and hills, and all the living things that live there; on behalf of all 100,000 people who live, work, study, and play here in the county, and of all the generations who will live here in years to come, we invite you to dust off that 10-speed and ride! Here are some things that might help you get (back) in the saddle: Come out Sunday, May 5th for Streets Alive! <http://streetsaliveithaca.com/>Walk, bike, roll, or dance down Cayuga Street in Ithaca from 1 to 4 pm, and enjoy the safety and freedom of streets that are closed to cars, and open to healthy, family fun! Need more reasons to bike? Biking is accessible for young and old, rich and poor, men and women; produces no greenhouse gases or air or noise pollution, decreases traffic congestion, reduces taxpayer burden, saves people money (heard of ‘pain at the pump’?), improves health and fitness, and is fast and fun! Join thousands of county residents who walk, bike, or ride the bus to school or work every day and enjoy health benefits from active living.
