Hello Friends, The 2013 Ithaca Festival (May 29-June 2) is swiftly approaching and the CRT (compost, recycling, and trash) crew is looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers of all ages. The CRT crew assists festivals with their compost, recycling, and trash management to work towards zero waste.
During this yearÂ’s expanded and enhanced Ithaca Festival, we need lots of volunteers to: 1. Explain to festival goers what can be recycled, what can be composted, etc. 2. Manage CRT stations where festival attendees separate their recyclables, compostables, and trash 3. Track volumes of waste reduced during the festival and discuss strategies to further reduce waste volumes In exchange for service, volunteers 1. develop skills for becoming an effective public educator 2. develop a greater awareness of sustainable waste management 3. receive a free Ithaca Festival t-shirt and meal ticket (minimum number of hours required) To volunteer, or for more information, including shift times, contact * [email protected] *. Please pass this along to any others who may be interested. Thanks - we hope to see you at this year's festival! Geoff Dunn Communications and Administrative Coord.
