Thanks to those of you who alerted to me to having the wrong website address! It is indeed <r-word.org>, NOT <.com>!
ORIGINAL MESSAGE Thanks for passing this along to others: This coming Wednesday is when people of all ages around the U.S. will pledge to stop using the 'R' word when referring to persons with cognitive disabilities. Spearheaded by Special Olympics and Best Buddies, this national campaign invites you to add your voice in two ways. First, you can sign the pledge online at [[ <r-word.com> - should be < r-word.org>]] - and watch inspiring videos from Oprah and others about what respecting all of us means. Also read inspiring stories about what standing up for respect can mean in everyday lives. Second - you can join WeACT (All Coming Together), Unity House's Self Advocacy Group, between 11 am and 2 pm at Center Ithaca on the Commons for our local celebration. Here's your chance to both sign the pledge and hear from local folks what they are doing to speak up against bullying and for RESPECT FOR ALL in their own everyday lives. Everyone welcome.
