4/14 Saturday, AgStravaganza, 10am-4pm: Annual celebration of local agriculture 
and its importance to Tompkins County's economy. This FREE, fun, 
family-oriented event will include big farm equipment, little farm animals, and 
educational exhibits. Food! Community supported Ag Fair, more:

Martin Luther King Jr./State Street and Cayuga Street between Seneca and Green 
Streets in downtown Ithaca, New York. Garage and street parking nearby. Cornell 
Cooperative Extension & partners.

4/15 Sunday, 11 am: Spring Clean at the Route 89 roadside rest stop. West side 
of Cayuga Lake, north of Taughannock State Park, in Covert. We'll provide 
gloves, bags & snacks. Wear boots and pants that can get dirty. A steep grade, 
stream and frequent use make this area of special interest. Details are still 
coming together but a picnic and special hike may treat volunteers for their 
hard work. Embrace the Lake!

4/18 The Problem With Plastics, 7-8:30 pm, a Science Cabaret/Sciencenter event: 
Join us for conversation with scientists Karyn Bischoff and Ellen George. 
Tickets include appetizers and a glass of wine/non-alcoholic beverage. Info,

4/18, 21, 25 (through the summer & fall) MARSH! Help give Montezuma wildlife a 
better place to live! Volunteer conservation work at the Montezuma National 
Wildlife Refuge. You MUST sign up in advance. Details, dates: Andrea Van

4/21 Saturday: Household Hazardous Waste drop-off, Tompkins County Dept. of 
Recycling and Materials Management, 122 Commercial Ave (off route 13), Ithaca.

4/22 Earth Day Ithaca with Sustainable Tompkins, 12-6pm, the Space, 700 W. 
Buffalo St. Ithaca. Performances, speaker, awards – help create a mural, weave 
a tapestry. Vegan diet challenge! More info: 
4/22 Cayuga Lake Water Blessing at the Wells College Boat House, Noon-3pm. Led 
by the Cayuga Nation & supporters who love our lake and clean waters. Cayuga

4/22 Earth Day Celebration, Giving Gratitude to Our Mother Earth at Ithaca 
Children’s Garden, Gaia the Turtle, 2 pm. Ceremony that honors the Air we 
breathe, the Water that nourishes us, the Sun that warms us, and the Earth that 
feeds us. Bring prayers, songs and fun facts about our earth air water and sky.

4/29 Sunday: Watch 3400 rubber ducks race down Cascadilla Creek in our 18th 
Annual 4-H Rubber Duck Race 10am-4pm. This annual day of FAMILY FUN raises 
$12,000 or more for 4-H youth programs in Tompkins County! With Compost Fair, 
refreshments, more. CCE-Tompkins Education Center 615 Willow Avenue Ithaca. 

4/29 Sunday: Streets Alive Ithaca, 1-5 pm. North Cayuga & West Courts Streets – 
Open to people, closed to cars. Bike, walk, roll and move freely, with 
activities along the way. (Take the water taste test!) <>

members working together to improve community health. Everyone who lives, 
learns, works or plays in the towns of Covert, Lodi, Ovid or Romulus are part
