An In-Depth Look at Small Scale Wind Technology-Tomorrow!!!! (sorry)

The second in a two-part series to help homeowners assess the feasibility of 
implementing different renewable energy sources. This session will focus on

Whole Community Project Forum

effort of organizations and individuals in Tompkins County to support the 
health and well-being of our children and youth. The WCP does not embrace just 
one solution or strategy. It brings together the collective experience of 
community members to support existing and new initiatives that foster healthy

Save Energy, Save Dollars
Thursday, October 25, 6:30 pm
Learn about low-cost and no-cost ways to save energy and reduce your energy 
bills. Also learn about programs that can help you afford energy-efficiency 
improvements with subsidies, low-interest loans, or free services to qualifying 
households. All participating households will receive a free energy kit, 
including weatherstripping, shrink window insulation, faucet aerator, outlet 
and light switch gaskets, and more. Free and open to the public, but 
pre-registration is required for this class. Call Carole Fisher CCE at 272-2292

Compost with Confidence Workshop - Winterize Your Outdoor Bin
Saturday, October. 27, 12-1 pm
Ithaca Community Gardens (follow signs from the Ithaca Farmer's Mkt.)
Master Composters will teach you tricks to extend the composting season well 
into the cold months and the preparations necessary to ensure successful 
composting over the winter. Workshop is free and registration is not required.

Making Ends Meet
Tuesday, October 30, 10:00 a.m.
This workshop provides an overview of the process for developing and using a 
household spending plan. We also explore ways to maximize resources and reduce 
energy use. Free and open to the public, with refreshments and door prizes. All 
attendees also receive a money management tool kit. Information also will be 
provided about the One-on-One Program for households that would like 
individualized instruction. Class size is limited; advance registration is 
required. Call 272-2292 for more information or to reserve a seat. (To be

The Woods in Your Backyard
Tuesday, October 30, 6:30-8:30pm

Do you own just a few acres in the suburbs or in the country? Are you 
interested in learning more about your land and what activities or improvements 
might be possible? This class is for people who own smaller parcels of land (2 
- 10 acres) and would like to tend their fields, forests, and wildlife as well 
as possible. We will review some of the challenges and opportunities that come 
with owning a backyard woodlot, and present tips for creating a backyard 
woodlot from an existing lawn area. We will also explore ideas for improving 
wildlife habitat, and highlight whats realistic or unrealistic to expect 
concerning timber sales and other income-generating activities. Finally, well 
offer tips on posting and trespassing issues. The cost to attend is $12/person 
if you pre-register, and $15 for walk-ins. Walk-ins can call 255-2815 for last
