Dear Sustainable Tompkins Listserve Members: I recently received a job within the Ithaca area working for a conservation/renewable energy firm.
I am very interested in (and have spent the last several years researching and involving myself) issues pertaining to sustainability and relocalization vis-a-vis the challenges of peak oil and climate change. I am looking to work with community members in preparing for and mitigating the effects of climate change and peak oil. I have been involved in relocalization groups in Boulder, Colorado and Granville, Ohio. Additionally, I co-founded Ohio Peak Oil Action (www.ohiopeakoilaction.org) with my girlfriend. I understand that there are two groups, "Sustainable Tompkins" and "Tompkins County Relocalization Project", working around similar issues. Basically, I am interested in any information/advice/contact information/wisdom that this list may be able to provide in terms of involving myself in this most important work.
